Chief Executive Officer

As Ramp’s CEO, John Frankovich guides the company’s overall strategy, market expansion, sales organization and executive team. John’s 20 years in consulting and corporate leadership benefit Ramp as he steers the day-to-day management of business operations – both domestic and international.
John’s expertise spans the areas of large scale software development, technology optimization roadmaps, portfolio management, product lifecycle management, and business rules engines. He has served many industries, including pharmaceutical/biotech, consumer goods and financial services, high tech, and healthcare. He has built, managed and transformed several consulting divisions, practices, and subsidiaries into highly successful and profitable operations. His acumen has resulted in consistent double-digit revenue growth for multiple companies. John joined Ramp after serving as Senior Vice President at the Big 4 consulting firm Cap Gemini Sogeti, where he achieved industry-leading client satisfaction ratings. Prior to this, John was responsible for worldwide project management and large-scale service delivery frameworks as a Global Director at Whitman-Hart. His diverse background includes projects with industry leaders like Microsoft, Nike, Starbucks, NASDAQ, Washington Mutual, Prudential, Caterpillar, Adobe, and Nortel. John holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in software engineering from the University of Calgary and has published several works on software engineering best practices.

Bob Duffy
Executive Vice President of Global Solutions

Bob Duffy, a co-founder of Ramp, is primarily focused on developing the firm’s solution portfolio and managing its consulting services operations. With over 25 years of experience growing and managing technology organizations, Bob excels at building, motivating, and inspiring teams to achieve business goals. He has helped both global enterprise and mid-market clients develop actionable, high-ROI technology strategies and high-impact enterprise solutions.
Bob has led the technology initiatives that launched three web-based companies. As the CIO of HomeGrocer.com, he built a technology team of over 200 people who designed, developed, and operated the award-winning B2C e-commerce site. At BEST Consulting, Bob built a project consulting team of over 100 people who developed enterprise solutions for Microsoft, AT&T, Boeing and Weyerhaeuser. At Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), he was instrumental in building out the company’s Workstation Technology practice, and led their technology strategy efforts at Sprint Corporation. Bob holds bachelor’s degrees in applied mathematics and operations research from the University of Tulsa’s College of Engineering.

Ken Deering
Vice President of Marketing and Business Alliances

Ken Deering is a co-founder of Ramp, where he leads the company’s marketing activities and develops synergistic business alliances. Ken’s 25 years of experience in management and consulting include senior management positions leading sales, marketing, and operations divisions in both brick-and-mortar and online businesses.
Prior to Ramp, Ken co-founded HomeGrocer.com, where he filled multiple roles, including Vice President of Business Development. As the Vice President of Storefront, he led the department responsible for the functional design, user experience design, usage analytics and usability testing of the award winning online shopping experience. Ken has been involved in leveraging the Internet for commercial purposes since 1996. He has significant experience in mobile telecommunications, GIS, manufacturing, and other high-tech industries. He has worked with industry leaders such as Proctor & Gamble, Raytheon, Seagate Crystal Reports, Amazon and Microsoft. Ken serves on the Advisory Board of the UW Information School and he is a judge for the UW Foster School of Business Annual Business Plan Competition. Ken is a graduate of the executive marketing program of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

Bill Palmer
Chief Financial Officer (Interim)

Bill Palmer is responsible for Ramp’s company-wide financial operations and general administration. As a senior level executive with a strong background in banking, finance, accounting, and business development skills, Bill offers knowledge gained from a career with extensive experience in structuring financial transactions.
Bill brings 23 years of experience to Ramp. He has served as CFO for a number of growing companies in technology and other industries. His past executive titles in the banking industry include Senior Vice President & Washington Portfolio Manager, Senior Credit Products Officer, and Senior Vice President & Client Manager. His previous successes also include implementing a $10 million Series B round, completing debt and private equity recapitalizations of three different companies, and leading the successful negotiation of numerous bank credit packages in challenging credit environments. Bill managed groups at Bank of America and U.S. Bank that funded hundreds of middle-market companies in the Pacific Northwest. Bill holds an MBA from Seattle University, a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University, and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.

Craig Vaniman
Senior Director of Talent Management

Craig Vaniman ensures that Ramp continues to invest in its most valuable resource: its employees. Craig focuses on maintaining the success of Ramp’s award-winning teams, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of human resources and field delivery.
By pursuing the mission of Ramp’s talent management group – to attract, retain, and grow the best professionals in the industry – Craig delivers exceptional results. His consulting experience draws from a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, software product development, retail, logistics and transportation. Prior to joining Ramp, Craig held senior management roles at Cap Gemini Sogeti for 13 years. As a top-selling Director and Senior Operations Director, he was responsible for sales, delivery management, and field operations for a client base that included Microsoft and Nike. Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Portland State University.

Jim Hodgen
Senior Director of Delivery Services

Jim Hodgen oversees Ramp’s worldwide project delivery cycle by leading the firm’s custom software development and technology consulting engagements. He directs Ramp’s design and technology strategists in the United States and its award-winning development center in Hyderabad, India.
Jim is a senior executive with over 25 years of consulting experience in software development and IT industries. Before he joined Ramp, Jim oversaw project delivery leadership as a Senior Delivery Manager at Ascentium. He also provided independent IT and management consulting for industry leaders, including Dendreon, Starbucks, Protiviti and T-Mobile. Jim developed his management skills over a decade of experience at Cap Gemini, where he created and led a $100 million supply chain based practice. He drove programs for over 20 companies, including SmithKline Beecham (prior to Glaxo merger), Michelin, American President Lines, Iams Pet Foods (prior to Procter & Gamble merger), Texas Instruments and Quaker Oats. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from City University, and is pursuing an executive MBA at the University of Washington.

Ramp took the #1 spot for revenue growth among consulting firms in the Western United States and 3rd for consulting firms throughout the country, in addition to being recognized as the 552nd fastest growing on Inc. Magazines list of 5,000 companies. The firm grew 569% between 2003 and 2006, achieving revenues of $9.5 million last year. It will post its greatest revenue in 2007 and is expected to continue strong growth in 2008.
